Damien is a book written by the New York Times and USA Today best selling author L. A. Casey and it’s part of the Slater Brothers Series.

I’ve already talked about this book when I made a post about reading in english.

Damien is the last of the five brothers who has his story perfectly told by an author who has captivated me since the first book I read written by her.

Damien has always been my favorite brother since the first book so this was the most waiting book of the series for me.
I had a real high expectation for this book and Casey suprised me in a positive way! She put in words a beautiful, emotional and touching love story… Two people that didn’t start in the best way possible but somehow found their way to make things right…
I believe that trust is the main issue of this book. Could omiting the truth to protect someone be confused with lack of trust?

The author made me question if is always a good option hiding things to protect the ones that we care about. Shouldn’t we always be able to have the right to know the truth even when it’s hard to know?

What you can expect from this book

In Damien you can find comedy and sadness, love and union, protection and support… L. A.  will make you want to be part of the family! She can make you cry with them… She can make you smile with them… She can make you laugh out loud with their crazy attitudes… And she can make your heart broke with their life experiences! Trust me! I know what I’m talking about! During my reading I passed for every single one of these stages.

This is a book that I highly recommend to everyone who is looking for a deep, passionate, adorable love story with a beautiful lesson about forgiveness and trust. And with a crazy family full of funny moments that will make you want to be part of the team Slater.
